The founder of Magrada: Kaire Miiter

I was born in Hiiumaa so its nature is in my blood. In my childhood, I spent a lot of time with my mum, enjoying the amazing beauty of forests, meadows, grasslands, and the sea. These moments taught me to notice and love the magical nature and power of our native island.

Memories from childhood

I have been interested in the world of beauty since I was a child. I loved rummaging through my mum’s make-up bag and secretly trying out the products I discovered. I remember how I used to cut out beauty tips and newest trends from magazines and newspapers to glue them in my secret scrapbook. Self-care has always been important to me. I also love the process of making something with my own hands.

My grandmother was a local apothecary and my herbal wisdom comes from her.

Birth of the Magrada Organic Cosmetics Brand

The story of Magrada began in 1998, when I became a first-time mum. As a concerned parent, I noticed that many skin care products contained a huge number of chemical and artificial components. The motive for discovering the realm of skin-friendly natural products was the sensitive and allergic skin of my eldest daughter Lisanna. This was the impetus for embarking on the journey of creating a beauty brand of natural products without unnecessary chemicals, which was established as a brand in 2015. Now, I work with my daughter Lisanna to create beauty products which we both love.

Magrada is organic, clean, aromatic. The philosophy of our brand is based on the unique opportunity to create clean and highly efficient products.

I value a sustainable and organic lifestyle and I like safe, clean, and effective skin care. I want to be 100% satisfied with all my products because this is the only way to make sure that others will also like them.

The products of Magrada are handmade from fresh ingredients and in small batches to ensure the best quality. As ingredients, we use medicinal plants picked on our native island Hiiumaa, Nordic plant extracts, and high-quality cold-pressed oils from South Europe. This combination works wonderfully.

‘Magrada’ is Catalan for ‘I like’.
